For our Applied Materials Group in the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering and Imaging at the Center for Neutron and Muon Sciences we are looking for a

Beamline Scientist (Tenure Track)

Your tasks

Organize and run the user program on the engineering diffractometer POLDI, including industrial applications
Maintain and develop the instrument, also with respect to alternative use in imaging
Contribute to the strategic development of the group, including new research initiatives and funding acquisition
Perform independent research within the scientific scope of the group
Mentoring of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers

Your profile

PhD in material science, physics, engineering, or a related field.
Strong research background in diffraction and engineering research
Excellent teamwork, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills
Proficient communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus
Experience with user support at large-scale research facilities and/or neutron instrumentation is an advantage
