Students and recent graduates

The Transversal Skills and Career Center offers many services to EPFL students willing to prepare themselves for their entry in the labour market. They can take advantage of them during their studies and up to 6 months after graduation.

We regularly schedule workshops and seminars on career topics such as CV writing, job interview preparation, LinkedIn, assessment centers, salary negotiation, networking, etc. Check the Trainings section on the above menu to see which topics will be covered next.

We regularly invite professionals (mostly EPFL Alumni) to talk about career paths and career opportunities for young engineers in a variety of industries. After briefly presenting themselves, our guests will engage in a moderated panel discussion and answer questions from the audience. Following the event, students and speakers can join around drinks to further the discussion and establish more personal contacts in an informal setting. Industry Roundtables are run alternately in French and in English. To get an idea of topics covered in previous Roundtables, you can check our archives.

Every academic year, we run around 20 company on-campus and online events to help companies become better known and recruit at EPFL: they can take the form of presentations, workshops, on-campus recruitment days, etc. You could even be invited by a potential employer to participate in an escape game! Check the Events section above for the program of things to come.

A quick question for our advisors? Use our virtual “Walk-in” meetings. No appointment required. One rule: the meeting must not last more than 20 minutes (if you believe you need more time, please request an individual advisory meeting - see below). To get access to our virtual meeting room, please login and select "career counselling" on the top menu.

Walk-in times (2024-2025): Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:30 – 12:00 (Please note that you may be temporarily put in a waiting room depending on attendance).

Whenever possible, we also give individual appointments to graduating students and recent grads actively looking for a job or willing to discuss career options. This is not automatic, though, and we review each request on a case-by-case basis. As a general rule, the more your request is based on specific grounds, the more likely it is to be accepted. We also expect you to have attended some of our training events prior to your request. To ask for an individual appointment with a Transversal Skills and Career Center advisor, please use this form (login via Tequila or AAI rquired)

At the beginning of the Spring semester, we run an information session on the options available to those who will leave EPFL following failure or withdrawal. A lot of useful and factual information is shared, after which former EPFL students who faced a similar situation will share their personal experiences. As the session targets Bachelor students, it is run in French (check the French version of this page to download the slides of the last session).
